Mini Laptop

Mini laptops

It seems that as technology advances, everything gets put into smaller and small packages. Look at the iPod series, for example. They have gone from the Classic model, with a length of 4.4 inches, to the Nano, a tiny 2.75 inches.

The same goes for computers. More and more companies are producing these miniature laptops, in a variety of sizes and specifications, to meet the needs of travellers, students and those who cannot use desktop computers, but do not want a large and expensive laptop.

But what can be said of these mini laptops? While they definitely have the appeal of being lightweight, portable, and frankly- cute, there are also definite drawbacks. Very few of the miniature size laptops have a decent keyboard, and many people find that they accidentally press keys without meaning to, and get hand cramps. Also, the small end of the screen range, being around 7” has proven a tiring experience for those with poor eyesight or who want to view webpages or large documents such as PDFs and spreadsheets.

If you are thinking of buying a mini laptop, it is worth paying that little bit extra and getting one with an ergonomic design, good processor power and a decent screen. Doing so means you can get the best out of these little computers, without having to face the unfortunate down-side some models have.
